CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy — Canada defeated Norway 9-3 in eight ends Sunday to capture the world men’s curling championship.
Skip Kevin Koe’s rink from Edmonton took control of the game early, storming out to a 3-0 lead after the first end before adding two in the third for a commanding 5-1 lead.
Koe ended the contest emphatically. With Norway sitting two, Koe registered a double takeout with his final stone that also scored two for the Canadian rink, resulting in the Norwegians shaking hands.
