NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — Three-time defending national women’s curling champion Jennifer Jones won her seventh career Grand Slam Sunday with a 7-3 win over Chelsea Carey at the Sobeys Slam.
Jones, from Winnipeg, stole three in the third end to snap a 1-1 tie and added a deuce with the hammer in the fifth to build a five-point lead over Carey. The win was the first on the Asham World Curling Tour this season for the Jones rink, who had bowed out twice in the quarter-finals and once each in the semis and final in previous events.
