Cathy Overton-Clapham, Kathy O’Rourke, Chelsea Carey and Erika Brown survived Saturday evening’s “C” qualifying games to join “A” qualifiers Eve Muirhead and Stefanie Lawton and “B” qualifiers Jennifer Jones and Amber Holland in the playoff round of the Sobeys Slam in New Glasgow NS.

Overton-Clapham downed Rachel Homan 8-3 in 7 ends, Carey outlasted Jaqueline Harrison 6-3, PEI’s Kathy O’Rourke, with Erin Carmody throwing the last rock, drew the four foot with their last rock to defeat Valerie Sweeting 7-6 and Erika Brown of the US scored two in the last end for an 8-7 win over former Sobeys Slam winner Sherry Middaugh.

In the 8:30 am quarter-finals, O’Rourke plays Muirhead, with Jones facing Brown, Holland meeting Carey, and Overton-Clapham taking on Lawton. The semis go at noon, with the final at 3 pm.
