Kim Aylward’s rink from the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside is off to a 2-0 start at the Dominion Curling Club Championship.

After a 9-4 win over Maureen Horan’s Quebec rink in seven ends on opening day action Wednesday night, she followed up with a 9-1 win after six ends against Kristy Frampton’s Nunavut rink today.

The P.E.I. women’s team, which also includes third Jeanne Duffenais, second Michelle Weaver and lead Debbie Caissy, sits in second behind Darlene Gillies’ rink out of Saskatchewan, which sits at 3-0.

P.E.I.’s win over Quebec was incorrectly reported in today’s edition of The Guardian as a 9-4 win for Quebec.

In that game, Aylward’s rink stole three to open the draw and never really looked back, leading 8-2 after five ends in coasting to the eventual 9-4 win two ends later.

The two top teams in the women’s blue division are set to battle it out today at 4:45 p.m. with Aylward’s rink going head-to-head with Gillis’ rink at the Charlottetown Curling Club.
