Criminal record checks are required for many volunteer positions, and continue to be provided free of charge for volunteers. Some changes to the process were made in July 2010. In some cases, fingerprints may be required.

The PEI Curling Association recommends that all personnel working with vulnerable age children have a Criminal Record Check every two (2) years. The PEICA will refund any fee incurred. Forms must be submitted in person, to the appropriate location, and a valid photo id is required.
Residents who reside in the City of Charlottetown must visit the Charlottetown Police Department at 10 Kirkwood Drive.
Residents of Queen’s County (excluding the city of Charlottetown) must visit Queens District RCMP at 153 Maypoint Rd with a valid photo ID.
Residents of Kings County are to visit the RCMP Brudenell Detachment.
Residents of Prince County are to visit the RCMP East or West Prince detachments.
