(Canadian Curling Association). With just weeks to go until the first rock is thrown at the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, there is much speculation about the field that will be competing for the Canadian women’s curling crown. 

 The eleven winning teams at the Provincial/Territorial Championships will join four-time Canadian Women’s Curling Champion, Team Canada’s Jennifer Jones, at the Civic Centre in Charlottetown, PEI from February 19th – 27th.  Jones has a bye into the Canadian Championship by virtue of her winning the 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sault St. Marie.

On PEI, six teams, including the Kathy O’Rourke rink, last year’s PEI champions and national runners-up, will be competing in the PEI playdowns at the Cornwall Curling Club from January 27-31.  End by end results will be available at peicurling.com/scotties.
