PEI’s Canada Games women’s curling team of Amanda MacLean,  Kassinda Bulger, Emily Gray, and Aleya Quilty lost a close opener to a very experienced team on Sunday afternoon at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax, losing 6-5 in an extra end to the Sarah Koltun rink from the Yukon. 17 year old Koltun competed in the Canada Games back in 2007, and has had five consecutive appearances at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors,  where she finished with a 6-6 record this year.

PEI had a 5-2 lead after five ends, but the Yukon team scored singles in the next three ends to tie the game, and scored another single in the extra end for the win.

On Monday, the  MacLean rink plays Ontario at 10 am.
