Beyond their years: curler Tyler Smith, gymnast Annika Landry at the Games (Guardian)

Annika Landry and Tyler Smith have been honing their skills in their respective sports — artistic gymnastics and curling — for almost half of their lives, devoting hours and hours to practising, attending competitions, learning from their coaches and teammates, striving for personal bests.

Their dedication has brought them to the biggest milestone in their competitive lives — the Canada Winter Games in Halifax, N.S. — where they will compete against some of the best young athletes in this country.

And it’s all by the tender age of 12 as the youngest female and male members of Team P.E.I.
