Province welcomes visitors to the Scotties

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI — Visitors are sure to enjoy the natural beauty of Prince Edward Island, as well as the hospitality and pride of its people during the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, says Premier Robert Ghiz.
“Having some of the best women curlers in the country compete in Charlottetown is sure to create a world-class event and attract many visitors to our beautiful province,” said Premier Ghiz. “On behalf of the Province, I would like to welcome our guests and invite them to explore the many things the Island has to offer.”
“Prince Edward Island is becoming well known for its success in hosting national sporting competitions and major events, and we look forward now to building on the Scotties legacy,” said Health and Wellness Minister Carolyn Bertram. “We are proud to be hosting the top female curlers from across our nation, and we sincerely hope that they will enjoy the competition and their visit to our province.”
The 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts runs February 19 to 27 in Charlottetown.
