12 & Under, 15 & Under wrap up today at the Fox

The KFC 12 and Under and the M&M Meat Shops 15 and Under both wrap up today at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside.

With one round robin draw remaining, this morning at 9, in the 12 and Under girls section, the Sarah Parsons rink from Crapaud leads with a 4-1 record, followed by Kaleigh MacKay of the host club at 3-2. These two teams play each other this morning. Katie Reid of Charlottetown is 2-3, followed by Katie Worth of Cornwall at 1-4. The top two teams play in the final at 12:30 if no tiebreakers, or 4 pm if one tiebreaker round is needed.

Round robin play is over in the 12 and Under boys section, with Montague’s Cameron MacDougall rink finishing first a 3-1 record. Three teams, skipped by Marshall Ryan of Montague, Donald DeWolfe of Cornwall, and John Campbell of Montague are 2-2, while Ryan Lowery of Montague is 1-3. Ryan and Campbell play in a 9 am tiebreaker, with the winner taking on DeWolfe at 12:30. The winner of these games then faces Jenkins in the final at 4 pm. The girls final goes at 12:30 if no tiebreakers, or 4 if tiebreakers are needed.

In the 15 and Under section, Cornwall’s Katie Fullerton rink, which includes 3 players from last year’s championship rink is undefeated with a 5-0 record, and has earned a berth in the final game.  Two teams, skipped by Emily Hennessey of Charlottetown and Jenny McLean of Summerside finished at 3-2, and play in the semi-final at 9, with the winner facing the Fullerton foursome in the final at 12:30. Emily Keen of Charlottetown and Megan Ching of Cornwall finished play at 2-3, while Emma Griffin of Western was 0-5.

One round robin draw, at 9 am, remains in the 15 and Under boys section, with Tyler Smith and his Silver Fox/Maple Leaf team, Devin Schut of Cornwall, and Brooks Roche of Montague all at 3-2, while Alex MacFadyen of the Fox is 1-4. Smith plays Roche while MacFadyen faces Schut in the last round. The top two teams will face off in the final at 12:30 if no tiebreakers, or 4 pm if one tiebreaker round is needed.
