PEI beats N. Ont. to go to 2-0 at Canadian Firefighters

PEI, represented by the Gordon MacFadyen rink from the Summerside Fire Department, have a 2-0 win-loss record after the second day of play at the 52nd Canadian Firefighters Curling Association Muscular Dystrophy Hydrant Curling Championships at the Ogden Legion Curling Club in Calgary Alberta.

On Saturday, PEI edged the Northwest Territories team 7-6 in an extra end in the opening draw, with the Territories scoring deuces in three ends, while PEI stole four consecutive singles en route to the win. In PEI’s sole Sunday game, they stole a triple in the tenth end to beat Northern Ontario 8-5.  PEI faces Manitoba and Saskatchewan on Monday.
