PEI splits openers at national Postal championship

The 45th Canadian Postal Employees Curling Classic got underway today at New Brunswick’s Mirimichi Curling Club. PEI is again represented by the Bobby Cameron rink, who finished with a 4-7 record last year in Regina.  Other members of the Cameron team are Eldon Kilbride, Mike Bernard, and Regan Kenny.

The PEI rink stole singles in ends eight and nine on the way to beating Quebec 9-7 this afternoon, but lost the evening draw 10-2 to Manitoba, shaking hands early after giving up five points in the sixth end. PEI plays Newfoundland/Labrador and Nova Scotia on Monday.

The finals go Saturday at 1:30 pm.
