The Propeller Brewing Company (men’s) and SKYY Vodka (women’s) cashspiels, scheduled to get underway this afternoon at the CFB Halifax Curling Club, with 20 men’s teams, including PEI’s Brett Gallant foursome, and 12 women’s rinks, including the Island’s Sarah Fullerton rink, taking part, have been cancelled due to “extreme weather conditions”. Organizers are hoping to reschedule for later this year.

Last year, The Ian Fitzner-LeBlanc rink from Halifax blanked Windsor Nova Scotia’s Mark Kehoe team by a 7-0 score to win the men’s event, while another Halifax team, skipped by Marie Christianson, downed fellow Haligonians the Sarah Rhyno foursome 10-2 to win the women’s side.
