PEI’s Suzanne Birt rink lost out to the Sylvie Robichaud foursome from New Brunswick by a 5-3 score in this afternoon’s final of the Lady Monctonian Invitational cashspiel at Curl Moncton. Single steals by Robichaud in ends five and six made the difference in the low-scoring final, and the New Brunswick skip had to make a clutch draw in the final end for the win.

Playing with Birt, who won the event back in 2008, are Shelly Bradley, Robyn MacPhee, and Leslie Macdougall, while Robichaud’s team includes Danielle Nicholson, Marie Richard, Kendra Dickison, and fifth Denise Nowlan, with coach Ellery Robichaud.
