John Epping pulled off a big upset to advance to the GP Car and Home World Cup of Curling final.
The Toronto native scored twice in the second and fifth ends to edge Olympic champion Kevin Martin of Edmonton 4-3 on Saturday.
Epping will play Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., in the Sunday final after Howard beat Sweden’s Niklas Edin 5-2 in the other semifinal.
Glenn Howard will get to meet his son, Scott Howard, who happens to be Epping’s second.
The event is the first leg of the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling series.
The final draw begins Sunday afternoon (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 2 p.m. AT).
