No TV coverage for event this weekend, but Grand Slam promises to telecast Summerside event

The Grand Slam of Curling issued the following statement on its Facebook page last night regarding TV coverage of The Pomeroy Inn & Suites “The National”, which is currently underway in Dawson Creek BC, as well as the GP Car and Home Players’ Championship slated for Summerside PEI from April 17 to 22, confirming that there is no TV coverage this weekend, that the CBC is out of covering the event, and promising coverage “on another network” for the event in Summerside:

“Unfortunately, a resolution could not be reached between the CBC and this event regarding long standing issues and the CBC decided to terminate the broadcast agreement.

The final event of the season, the GP Car and Home Players’ Championship which is taking place in Summerside, PEI in April will have national television coverage but on another network.”

Although no deal has yet been announced, it is believed that Rogers Sportsnet will be picking up the coverage for the Summerside Slam event.
