PEI’s future curling stars take to the ice this weekend at the Crapaud Community Curling Club, with the O’Connor Glass Provincial age 15 and Under championships running Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening, and the KFC Provincial 12 and Under going on Sunday.

Nine boys and six girls teams are competing in the 15 and Under, with six boys and the same number of girls teams taking part in the 12 and Under event.

The defending 15 and Under girls champion team, skipped by Katie Fullerton of Cornwall, have graduated from the age category, but the Tyler Smith rink from Crapaud and Charlottetown are back to defend their title.

The defending champion Donald DeWolfe team from Cornwall are back to defend the 12 and Under boys title, while the Kaleigh MacKay from the Silver Fox and Crapaud clubs have moved up to the 15 and Under event.

Both events are round robin format, with semi-finals and finals in the 15 and Under, and the 12 and Under decided by a points system.
