Capital One Junior Draw to the Button to take place April 21 at Credit Union Place

CAPITAL ONE HAS CREATED A UNIQUE PROGRAM FOR JUNIOR CURLERS!

Taking place at the Credit Union Place on April 21st, all 7 PEI curling clubs will be participating in the Capital One Junior Draw to the Button!

CAPITAL ONE JUNIOR DRAW TO THE BUTTON HIGHLIGHTS

• Open to all junior curlers at the seven clubs that meet the eligibility requirements

THE WINNER RECEIVES…. $1,000

The curling club, represented by the winner receives a “Capital Improvement” Donation in the amount of… $10,000

Here’s how the event works:

1.       Participants will contact their PEI curling club to enter.

2.       All junior curlers (under the age of 18 who have been a member of one of the seven PEI Member Clubs since January 9, 2012) are eligible.

3.       All 7 PEI Member Clubs have the right to advance 5 participants from the Quarter-Finals (held at each club) to the Semi-Finals (held at Credit Union Place on April 21)

4.       Each Club will have to host a Quarter-Final on or before April 9.

a.       There is no limit to how many participants are in the Quarter-Finals, as long as they meet the eligibilty requirements.

b.      Each participant in the Quarter-Finals must have a parent/guardian sign a release-waiver.

c.       Each participant in the Quarter-Fianls will have 1 (one) rock to throw.  Each rock will be measured and taken out of play.

d.      No sweepers and no skips will be allowed.

e.      After all participants have had the chance to throw their one rock, the top five (5) curlers (from each club) who are closest to the button at each club will be deemed the winners of the Quarter-Finals and advance the Semi-Finals.

5.       As a requirement to receive the $10,000 donation, the curling club must submit, by April 13, 2012, a plan/description on how they propose to utilize the funds, to Amy Duncan of the PEICA  Capital One reserves the right to approve the club’s plan prior to the funds being dispersed.

a.       The donation must be used solely for the purpose of upgrading the curling club and/or the club’s curling equipment.
