At the 46th Canadian Postal Employees Curling Classic at the Cloverdale Curling Club in Surrey BC. PEI, represented again this year by the rink of Bob Cameron (skip), Eldon Kilbride (3rd), Regan Kenny (2nd) and Mike Bernard (lead), lost their lone Wednesday game 14-4 to Northern Ontario, who scored a six ender in the 8th to bring the game to an early conclusion. PEI falls to 1-6.
The Island squad play defending champion Nova Scotia at 2 this afternoon, and BC at 7 pm.
Alberta remains undefeated atop the standings at 7-0, followed by Saskatchewan at 6-1, and Northern Ontario and Nova Scotia at 6-2. NB is 4-3, Quebec is 3-4, while BC, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario all have 5 losses, PEI has 6, and Manitoba is winless at 0-7.
Round robin play continues today with games at 2 and 7 pm, with the final round robin draw Friday at 9:30 am. Tiebreakers, if needed, and the Page playoffs go later on Friday, with the semi-finals Saturday at 9 am, and the finals following at 1:30 pm (all times local-add 4 hours for PEI time).
