Now they will get to see elite-level men’s curling in the Grand Slam of Curling Players’ Championship in Summerside from April 17 to 22.
“It’s just a heck of a lot of really good shot-making,” said Jeff Stoughton, who will skip one of the eight men’s teams. “If the ice is really good out there, you are going to see the best curlers playing the best, and unbelievable shot-making.
“We hope for great ice, and then we can display the great shot-making that these men’s teams can do. We’re looking forward to it, and we’re excited. The fans should get out and support it, and it should be a lot of fun for them to come and watch.”
The Players’ Championship will also feature the top eight women’s teams in a series of events where teams accumulate points.
“Curling-wise, it should be great,” said Stoughton. “You have eight of the top eight teams basically in Canada and the world.
“It’s going to be tough. We are going to have to be at our best to beat all these guys, and we’ll see how it goes.”
