PEI’s Eddie MacKenzie rink, who won the Curl Atlantic Championship last month in Sackville NB, is off to Halifax this weekend to compete in the Propeller Brewing Company Atlantic Curling Tour cashspiel at the CFB Halifax Curling Club. The SKYY Vodka women’s cashspiel is also on at the same club this weekend. No other Island rinks are signed up for either event. The MacKenzie team includes third Anson Carmody, second Christian Tolusso, and lead Alex MacFadyen. The defending champion Peter Burgess and Kelly MacIntosh rink are both back looking to defend their respective titles. 18 men’s and 9 women’s rinks are signed up.

Opening round robin draws are Friday evening at 6, with MacKenzie seeing first action Saturday morning at 8:30. Men’s quarter-finals go Monday morning at 9, with men’s and women’s semis following at noon, and the finals at 3 pm.
