The weekly league sign-up sheets will be coming down on Oct. 15 and 16, so get your name up there quickly. If you can’t get to the club, call the office and they will sign you up.
If you are wondering what curling is all about and can I do it, then Monday the 15, Tuesday the 16 and Thursday the 18 is for you. This is our open house nights where experienced curlers will help you try out our great sport and answer any questions you may have. The times will be from 7 to 9 pm. Everyone was a new curler at one time and it is never too late to try. I recommend if you have any interest to come the first night so that if you do decide to join we can get you signed up. If you can only make Tuesday or Thursday, don’t worry we will do our best to find the right spot for you.
The office has agreed to stay open until 8:00 during the first two weeks of curling, October 15 – 18 and 22 -25. This way everyone can pay their dues and get any curling supplies you may need. If we don’t have what you need in supplies, let them know and it will be ordered for you.
Attention all Dominion curlers, there has been a change to the eligibility for the 2013 event. The revision pertains to requirement #3. Under the revised requirement provinces/territories are now allowed one player who has placed in the top 25% in a Junior’s, Men’s, Women’s or Senior’s provincial/territory event in the current or previous 4 years. The years that this refers to are: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The rules are posted on the main bulletin board but if you have any questions, please contact myself or Gerald Caissy. We will be having our club playoffs February 1 to 3. Teams who wish to play in this event need to have curled together in either round 1 or round 2 of a club sanctioned league. Those leagues are: Tuesday night team, Wednesday night team, Thursday night senior league or senior’s morning league.
Junior curling will start on Monday October 29th. Registration will happen from 10 am-12pm at the Fox on Saturday October 27th.
Our first funspiel for the curling season will be Friday November 2nd and Saturday November 3rd.
