The Stuart Thompson rink from Nova Scotia stole the last two ends in a close 5-4 match this afternoon to defeat the Josh Barry foursome from New Brunswick in the all-Maritime  Men’s final at the OVCA Junior Superspiel in the Ottawa area.

The women’s final was won by the Selena Kaatz team from Manitoba, who defeated Ontario’s Kendall Haymes foursome by a 6-4 score.

The winning rinks went home with $3000, with $1600 going to the runners-up.

The $600 consolation round winner was Felix Asselin of Quebec, who beat Ontario’s Ben Bevan 6-2. The Bevan rink wins $400.

PEI’s representatives, skipped by  brother and sister Matthew and Amanda MacLean of O’Leary, finished the event with 1-4 records.
