PEI teams lose against Saskatchewan at The Dominion

PEI’s Nola Murphy and Alan Inman rinks took on strong Saskatchewan teams at The Dominion Curling Club Championships in Scarborough  Ont. today, and came out on the losing end in both games. Murphy’s game, against the Danette Tracey rink from Weyburn went only six ends, with the Saskatchewan foursome taking a deuce in the first end, stealing a single in three, and a deuce in the fourth end. PEI got on the board with a deuce in five, but a triple in the sixth by Tracey put the game out of reach for the Islanders. Saskatchewan sits at an even 2-2 win-loss record, while PEI is 1-2. Ontario and New Brunswick are still undefeated.

PEI had things well in hand, stealing singles in the first two ends and a deuce in the third, but Saskatchewan narrowed the gap with a deuce in the fourth to trail 4-2 at the half. The western team then grabbed the lead with a stolen triple in the fifth, and a single in six.  The teams traded singles in the final two ends. Inman’s win-loss record is now 1-2. The other unbeaten teams besides Sask. are the other Prairie provinces of Alberta and Manitoba.
