Nine PEI teams in Hub City Shootout starting Thurs. in Moncton

Play gets underway Thursday in the 6th annual Molson Canadian Hub City Shootout cashspiel at Curl Moncton’s Beaver and Beausejour curling facilities.

Six of the 21 men’s teams entered are from PEI, skipped by Eddie MacKenzie, Rod MacDonald, Jamie Newson, Mike Gaudet, Robert Shaw and Blair Weeks.

PEI men’s rosters:

Island rinks comprise three of the eight women’s entries, and are captained by Suzanne Birt, Tammy Dewar, and Kathy O’Rourke.

PEI women’s rosters:

The men are playing a triple knockout format, while the women will play a two pool round robin.

Defending champs are the New Brunswick rinks of Marc Lecocq and Sandy Comeau, and are both back this year.

The finals go Sunday Dec. 9 at 3:30 pm.
