The Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI natives Adam Casey at third and second stone Brett Gallant, announced today that Brett’s father, Peter Gallant of Stratford PEI, will be joining the team as coach, while Jamie Korab returns to the Gushue squad as alternate/fifth player as they compete in the Tim Hortons Brier, March 2-10 in Edmonton.
Peter is a nine-time PEI men’s champion and former Canadian Mixed champ who has coached his son throughout most of his curling career.
Korab won Olympic gold with Gushue back in 2006, but was cut from the team in April 2007. He rejoined Team Gushue for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons before taking some time off from curling.
