Two teams are tied for the lead following the final round robin draw this morning at the Dominion Legion Curling Championship at the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton, forcing a 2 pm tiebreaker to decide this year’s champion. Yesterday’s leaders, Manitoba/Northwestern Ontario, and Nova Scotia/Nunavut, both picked up wins this morning to finish the round robin with 5-1 win-loss records and advance to the tiebreaker. NS/Nunavut, skipped by Steve Elder from the Fairview branch beat Saskatchewan 7-1, while Manitoba/NW Ont., captained by Blair Goethals, got by PEI’s Mel Bernard team by a 4-3 score. PEI, at 3 wins and 3 losses, finishes in a 3-way tie for third place with Quebec and Saskatchewan, while BC/Yukon and Nfld./Labrador ended play with 1-5 records.
