UPEI Panthers curling team begins play today at CIS/CCA Championships in Kamloops

The UPEI Panthers women’s curling team, skipped by Cornwall’s Veronica Smith, begin play at 10 am Pacific/2 pm Atlantic today against the host Thompson Rivers WolfPack team at the CIS/CCA Curling Championships, which continue through March 24 in Kamloops BC. Team UPEI, which includes third Jane DiCarlo, second Emily Gray, and lead Aleya Quilty, and is coached by Paul Smith then play the University of Alberta Pandas at 7 pm ADT.

Atlantic Canada’s other women’s representatives at the CIS Championship are the Sara Spafford team from Saint Mary’s, which includes Seven Mile Bay PEI’s Anita Casey. Other members of the Spafford rink are Amanda Colter and MacKenzie Proctor, with coach Marie Christianson.

The Atlantic men’s reps are the Lea Buott rink from Dalhousie, and the Robert Mayhew foursome from Acadia, coached by PEI native and 1977 World Junior champion Alan Mayhew.
