Four P.E.I. curlers are on the ice at Olympic pre-trials in Kitchener, Ont. Friday hoping to earn a place on Team Canada in Sochi.
On the men’s side are Adam Casey and Brett Gallant, both members of the rink skipped by 2006 Olympic gold medalist Brad Gushue. To earn a spot in December’s Trials in Winnipeg the team needs to finish in the top two at this week’s pre-trials.

They suffered a setback with a loss Thursday night but are scheduled to be back on the ice Friday.
Gallant said landing a spot in the Kitchener trials has been the rink’s focus all season.
“We’ve been on the road a lot so far this fall, and just trying to prepare ourselves for this event and hopefully the trials afterwards,” said Gallant.
“We’re trying to be the best team in Canada, and to be at that level the commitment is huge.”
