Cornwall holding its first Masters Plus bonspiel next week

The Cornwall Curling Club is getting ready to host its first Masters Plus Bonspiel on Thursday November 21 and Friday November 22. Masters “Plus” means that three of the curlers on a team must be 60 years of age or over (Masters), with one player (the Plus)  permitted to be 55 or over.

There are 16 teams entered, representing 10 different curling clubs, from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Off-Island teams are from CFB Halifax, Antigonish, Truro, Sackville and Moncton. Draws are 8:30, 11:00, 1:30 and 4:00 each day. On Thursday between 3:15 and 4:15 the curlers will be entertained by a talented young artist Fiona MacCorquodale. She is only 15 years old and released her second CD this past July. Everyone is invited to come out and view both the curling and the musical entertainment.
