SUMMERSIDE – It came down to the last rock and the defending women’s junior curling champion needed a draw to the four-foot to win and she did just that.
Veronica Smith of the Cornwall Curling Club needed the clutch shot and got it.
The Veronica Smith rink out of the Cornwall Curling Club was in tough against the Amanda MacLean foursome out of Cornwall.
“That last shot, I closed my eyes before I threw it and said it’s a do or die sort of thing,” Smith said. “Honestly, I didn’t know where it had stopped and then I say the claps in here so I knew I must have made it.”
