Young curlers, many of them in their first bonspiel, took to the ice at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside on Friday and Saturday for the annual “Christmas Classic”. The curlers, in both 13 and Under and 16 and Under Age Categories, received a small amount of cash for each win, and a lot of experience in curling in a bonspiel environment, with each team playing four games during the event. Organizer Sheila Compton, with help from Shelley MacFadyen, ensured the event ran smoothly, with Shelly also helping out the younger curlers on the ice.
