Eddie MacKenzie beat Rod MacDonald Wednesday 9-8 in an extra end on the opening day of action at the P.E.I. Men’s Tankard Provincial Championship in Montague.

It was a rematch of last year’s final, which MacKenzie also won in an extra end.

Action continues Thursday at the Montague Curling Club with draws at 2 and 7 p.m.

The final is set for Sunday at 7 p.m.
