PEI picks up first win at Canadian Firefighters

The Crossroads Fire Department team of Jerry Hughes, Ken McGregor, Peter MacDonald, and Bill MacPhee picked up their first win, in their only game today at the 55th Canadian Firefighters Curling Championship, being played at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg, The Island squad beat Quebec by a 7-2 score to improve to a 1-5 win-loss record. Nova Scotia, who beat PEI yesterday, is also at 1-5.

Saskatchewan at 5-1, and Manitoba at 4-1 lead the round robin, followed by BC, NB, and Southern Ontario with 2 losses, Alberta with 3, and Northern Ontario and Quebec with 4.

The PEI team play Northern Ontario and New Brunswick on Wednesday
