A familiar face will return to Glenn Howard’s team next season.
Richard Hart, who played third for Howard from 2000-11, is coming out of retirement to rejoin Howard’s rink and take over for Wayne Middaugh in the fall.
Hart won the Brier and world championships with Howard in 2007. He also earned a silver medal with Mike Harris’s team at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.
Howard, from Penetanguishene, Ont., will also add Jon Mead, who currently plays with Winnipeg’s Jeff Stoughton. Mead won two Brier titles and one world championship with Team Stoughton, and will replace Brent Laing.
Craig Savill will return at lead for Howard.
Team Howard has won two of the three Grand Slam of Curling events so far in 2013-14 with the season-ending Players’ Championship set to begin Tuesday.
