SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. – Adam Casey made P.E.I. curling history on Wednesday, and he’s proving his rink can play with the world’s best.
Casey dropped his opening game in the National 8-4 to Glenn Howard, who scored three points in the first end and led 5-1 after three.
Then on Thursday, the Casey foursome played a pair of extra-end games. In an afternoon game, Casey drew to the four-foot in the extra end to edge Olympic gold-medallist and hometown favourite Brad Jacobs 5-4.
In a late-afternoon contest, John Epping counted a single point in the extra end to pull out a 5-4 win and drop Casey to 1-2 (won-lost).
