The Kaleigh Mackay rink from the Crapaud Community Curling Club and the Montague Curling Club, up one coming home against the Lauren Moerike team from the Charlottetown Curling Complex, stole the final end for a 7-5 win this afternoon in a sudden death final game at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside to win the PEI women’s berth at the 2015 Canada Games in BC. The Tyler Smith team from Montague swept his first two games against the Alex MacFadyen rink from the host club to win the men’s berth on Saturday.
The Mackay team also includes third Danielle Collings, second stone Alyssa Wright, and lead Kaleigh Peters, and is coached by A..J. Campbell.

The Moerike team, with 3rd Ashley Gallant, 2nd Annika Kelly, and lead Tati Kelly, with coach Angela Hodgson, forced the deciding game in the best of three series with a 9-6 come-from-behind win Saturday afternoon. The Mackay foursome won the 1st game in the series on Saturday morning, by an 11-3 score.
In the first half of today’s final game, Mackay took singles in the first two ends, and a deuce in the fourth, while Moerike recorded singles in ends three and five to trail 4-2. MacKay took a single in end six, but Moerike tied the game at five-all with a deuce in seven and a stolen single in eight. Moerike came back with a single in nine to lead 6-5 coming home without last rock advantage. She managed to steal a single in the final end for the 7-5 win.
The Kaleigh Mackay and Tyler Smith rinks will represent PEI at the Canada Winter Games, in Prince George BC from February 13—March 1, 2015, with the men’s curling event taking place during Week 1 (Feb. 13-21) and the women’s event being held Week 2 (Feb. 21-Mar. 1).
