PEI’s Adam Casey rink gave up three points in the fifth end to trail 6-2 in their quarter-final game against Manitoba’s Reid Carruthers team at the US Open of Curling World Curling Tour event in Blaine Minnesota. Casey picked up 1 in the sixth, but it was all over in the seventh with a 6-3 final score. Carruthers now takes on fellow Manitoban Jeff Stoughton in the semis.
Meanwhile, Glenn Howard is out of the Ontario Tankard regional playdowns, losing to Aaron Squires in the B semi by an 8-4 score. Howard still has a “last-chance” Tankard challenge round he can compete in, but he’s scheduled to play in the Pinty’s All-Star #Curling Skins Game in Banff at the same time (info from The Curling News)
