Canada Games PEI women’s team lose opener, play Ontario at 8 pm

The PEI women’s team at the Canada Games, skipped by Kaleigh Mackay lost their opener this afternoon to Saskatchewan, by a 7-3 score. Saskatchewan, with hammer, scored a single in the opening end, with PEI blanking the second and taking 1 point in the third. Saskatchewan was held to a single point in the fourth, but stole a deuce to lead 4-1 at the fifth end break. PEI blanked the sixth and took one in the seventh, but Saskatchewan took a triple in the eighth to lead 7-2. PEI took 1 in the 9th, but couldn’t recover. The Island squad hits the ice again at 8 pm, against Ontario.
