Birt, with her new team this year of Robyn Green, Meaghan Hughes, and Marie Christianson, won two sections, and will repeat as Scotties winner if she wins either the 10 am or the 3 pm match on Monday, while Dolan would have to win both in order to advance to the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts. February 20-28, 2016 at Revolution Place, in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Dolan’s teammates are Rebecca Jean MacDonald, Dolan’s daughter Sinead, and lead Michala Robison, with alternate Jackie Reid.

Jackson handed Birt her first loss in the event with an 8-5 win this afternoon, and got off to a fast start this evening with a first end triple steal. Dolan, who beat Shelly Bradley 9-4 this afternoon to advance to the C final, then took a 4-3 lead with a single, and steals of 2 and 1. A single by Jackson tied the game at 4-4 at the 5th end break. The teams traded singles in ends six and eight, but Dolan took the lead with a deuce in 9, and did not have to throw her last rock in the 10th.
The Alexis Burris rink from Cornwall went undefeated to finish first in the Future Scotties developmental event this afternoon.
