The Curling Canada Rocks & Rings is growing again, expanding its unique gym-based program to three new cities in 2016. This means over 36 Rocks & Rings instructors will bring the Olympic sport of curling to over 200,000 students across Canada every year. And to think it all started with just one instructor in Toronto seven years ago!
The addition of itravel2000 as a sponsor for the 2015-2016 school year allows the program to expand into Quebec City, Que.; Moncton, N.B; and Lethbridge, Alta.
“We are excited about our partnership with the Curling Canada’s Rocks & Rings program,” says Dave Paterson, itravel2000’s Vice President of Marketing. “itravel2000 is committed to supporting youth and families across Canada and Rocks & Rings is a perfect program for us to be involved with.”
Curling Canada Rocks & Rings continues to work with more curling clubs to adopt local schools and help grow their youth programs.
“We know of five clubs alone in Atlantic Canada that got over 50 new curlers this year after having the Rocks & Rings program sponsored into schools by their local curling club,” says Abbie Darnley, Program Director of Rocks & Rings. “It is certainly a great opportunity for clubs to work with their local schools and support their community by getting a fun interactive program into the school.”
“Stayed tuned,” adds Darnley, “as we will soon have over a million reasons to celebrate the continued growth of the Curling Canada Rocks & Rings program.”
