Women’s round robin play wrapped up Wednesday and men’s round robin play finished this morning at the Canadian Masters Curling Championships in the Annapolis Valley, with both PEI teams finishing out of the playoffs and in the “seeding pool”.
PEI women, skipped by Sandy Hope from the Cornwall Curling Club, picked up a win over the Northwest Territories in the round robin, finishing with a 1-4 record. The Hope rink lost their first of three seeding pool games this morning, 8-7 to the Yukon. They play Alberta at 8:30 Friday morning, and end play against the Territories at 4 pm on Friday.
The PEI men’s rink, skipped by Louis Walsh out of Summerside’s Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club, did not pick up a round robin win, finishing with an 0-6 record after a 6-4 loss to Quebec this morning. Team Walsh will now play in the seeding pool (schedule not yet posted).
The championship games go Sunday at 2.
