The road for Canada’s bid to become the first country to repeat as men’s and women’s Olympic curling gold-medallists will go through Summerside PEI, when the Road to the Roar Pre-Trials takes place Nov. 6-13 at Credit Union Place (CUP). Qualifiers from that event will advance to the 2017 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, from Dec. 2-10 at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre. Although CUP has hosted Grand Slam of Curling events in the past, it will be the first time the 4,228 seat arena has hosted a Curling Canada Season of Champions event. Full event passes for the Road to the Roar are now available online and at the CUP Box Office. Click here to buy online.
Volunteers are required to make this event a success. The volunteer application form is now available. A volunteer fee of $75 covers your volunteer jacket and a full event pass you can use when not working a volunteer shift (you are required to work five shifts).
Click here for the volunteer application form. After you print and complete the form, submit it to the CUP Front Desk, 511 Notre Dame St., Summerside PE C1N 1T2, or the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Community Complex, 110 Water St., Summerside PE C1N 1A9. Volunteers may be subject to a routine screening check.
