The 14 men’s and 14 women’s teams are split into two seven-team round-robin pools. After the single round-robin, the top three teams in each pool will make the playoffs. The first-place teams will be seeded directly into the semifinals on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The second and third-place teams will meet in crossover quarter-finals Friday, with the winners moving into the semis. The semifinal winners will play for gold, and the losers will play for bronze on Saturday morning.
The PEI women are currently tied for first place at 4-1 in their pool with BC and Alberta, going into their final round robin game, against Alberta, at 8:30 pm, following a 5-3 win over Northern Ontario this afternoon. They lost to BC earlier. The next three teams in their pool all sit at 2-3, and cannot catch the three leaders.
The PEI men, captained by Leo Stewart out of the Silver Fox, are still winless at 0-5, finishing up vs. the Northwest Territories at 5 pm, & won’t be in the playoffs.
