The Egg Farmers Rocks & Rings presented by Curling Canada program is excited to continue sharing curling with students this school year and we’re looking for dedicated instructors to join the team.
We’re currently looking for one instructor in each of the following locations (updated October 27, 2018):
Kitchener, ON
Peterborough, ON
Charlottetown, PEI
Hamilton, ON
St. John’s, NL
Regina, SK
We’re searching for instructors for the 2018/2019 elementary school year (October 2018-May 2019) to work approximately 2-3 days per week with some flexibility. Instructors visit schools throughout their region, delivering basic curling instruction to children aged 4-13 in a school setting. Instructors must ensure timely arrival at school and setup/cleanup the gymnasium at the beginning and end of each day.
Our instructors are energetic and enthusiastic with strong verbal communication skills. They must have the ability to organize, control, and generate enthusiasm in a classroom of 20-30 students. Organizational and time management skills are also a necessity, along with the ability to work independently.
Experience teaching, or coaching elementary aged children in a sport, camp, daycare, or school setting is an asset, as is knowledge of the sport of curling — however, it is not a requirement.
Instructors must also have access to a vehicle on work days and be willing to travel to schools outside of home region. Instructors are compensated for travel. Before beginning work in schools instructors must also successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).

Rocks & Rings Program Description:
The Rocks & Rings program visits participating schools for a full school day. We take over the gym as classes take turns visiting for 40 minutes sessions of fun and instruction. Various drills, relays and team-building activities are used to introduce students to the sport of curling. It is a highly interactive program with the emphasis on fun! Unique indoor floor curling equipment is used to provide a true curling experience without requiring ice!
