The Cornwall Curling Club is getting ready to host its 6th annual Masters Plus Bonspiel on Thursday November 22nd and Friday November 23rd. Masters Plus teams include three curlers age 60 and over, and one who is at least 55. This year there is again a full draw of 16 teams entered — representing four different curling clubs from all three Maritime provinces. Off-Island teams are from CFB Halifax, Sackville, and Sackville/Moncton. All Island teams are from Cornwall. Draws are 8:30, 11:00, 1:30 and 4:00 each day. The Sandy Hope rink from Cornwall who won last year’s bonspiel, will be back this year to defend their title.
The Host Committee would really appreciate if anyone can voluntarily give up their locker for Thursday and Friday during the bonspiel and also want to thank the daytime, stick, and junior curlers at the Club for their cooperation as they will miss some regular curling draws and junior practices.
Curling fans are invited to take in the action as many of the teams have curlers who have won provincial titles. There is no charge to watch the curling.
