Smith rink falls to 1-3 at Canadian junior curling championships (Journal)

Summerside native curling with Team New Brunswick

P.E.I.’s Tyler Smith rink fell to 1-3 (won-lost) at the 2019 New Holland Canadian junior curling championships in Prince Albert, Sask.

Nova Scotia outscored the Smith team from the Charlottetown Curling Complex 9-7 in Monday’s early draw. Smith is scheduled to play the Northwest Territories in Monday’s late draw [watch live on Curling Canada’s Facebook page at 9 pm AT].

Alex Gallant of Summerside is playing the lead position for New Brunswick’s Jack Smeltzer rink, which takes a 2-1 record into Monday night’s draw.

Women

In women’s play, P.E.I.’s Lauren Ferguson rink from the Cornwall Curling Club entering Monday night’s draw against the Northwest Territories at 0-4. It is the only game of the day for Ferguson, third stone Katie Shaw, second stone Alexis Burris and lead Lexie Murray.
