Charlottetown Men, Silver Fox Women remain undefeated at PEI Curling Club Ch’ships

Round robin play concludes on Sunday in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions of the PEI Curling Club Championships, being played at the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary, with teams from all seven PEI curling facilities taking part in the Men’s event, while six teams are entered in the Women’s.

The Charlottetown Curling Complex team, skipped by Dennis Watts, remains undefeated at 4-0 on the men’s side, following wins today over Western Community, and Montague. The Tim Hockin-skipped Silver Fox team and Montague Curling Rink’s Matthew MacDonald squad both have just one loss.

The Melissa Morrow team from the Silver Fox in Summerside, who were finalists last year, are 3-0 on the Women’s side, while Tammy Dewar and her Montague team, along with the Bobbi-Jean Boylan foursome from the host club are 2-1.

There are 4 draws on Sunday, with all the women’s teams seeing action at 9 am, six of the seven men’s teams on the ice at noon, two women’s and one men’s rink playing at 4 pm, and six men’s teams wrapping up the round robins with the 8 pm draw.

The top three teams  from the round robin draws, after any tiebreakers, advance to their respective championship round on Monday and, if needed, Tuesday. 

The provincial winners will advance to the national Curling Club Championship, normally held in November. Dates and location have not yet been announced.
