The 27th Oak Island Junior Cashspiel, sponsored by the Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre, gets underway Friday and wraps up Sunday at the Chester Curling Club in Chester NS.
Last year’s junior women’s winners were the three-person team of Lauren Ferguson, Kristie Rogers, and Rachel O’Connor, with coach Pat Quilty, from the Cornwall Curling Club, while the repeat Junior Men’s winners were the Graeme Weagel foursome from Halifax.

Ferguson, now playing third on the Taylour Stevens Nova Scotia Junior Championship rink from Halifax, will be back looking for a repeat title.
Also entered are three Island rinks from the Cornwall Curling Club. In the junior women’s section is the team of Katie Shaw, Alexis Burris, Lexie Murray, and Izzy Tatlock while the junior men’s division includes the foursome of Mitchell Schut, Chase MacMillan, Cruz Pineau and Liam Kelly, along with the Brayden Snow squad, which includes Jack MacFadyen, Liam Barbrick, and Davis Nicholson.
