2021-22 Mixed Stick Ch’ship

Combined Cornwall/Montague team win inaugural PEI Mixed Stick Ch’ship

The team of Janette Fraser from the Cornwall Curling Club and Carl Dimitroff from the Montague Curling Club beat Marie Pineau and Bob Matheson from the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary by a 9-4 score in the Thursday afternoon final to win the inaugural PEI Mixed Stick Curling Championship at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex in Summerside. Fraser/Dimitroff had a 4-1 win-loss record in the nine-team event, while Pineau and Matheson had three wins and two losses.

The O’Leary team were leading 4-2 after three ends in the final, but the Cornwall/Montague duo pulled ahead with a five-point fourth end, and stole a deuce in the fifth.

The 2021-22 PEI curling championship season kicks off on Wednesday, December 8th, with the inaugural Mixed Stick Curling Championship at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex in Summerside. Nine teams from four PEI curling facilities have signed up. There will be 2 round-robin pools, one with 5 teams and the other with 4 teams, with teams playing a single round-robin, and the top two teams from each pool advancing to a semi-final round, with the winners squaring off in the final.

PEI Vax Passes will be checked and are required for all participants and spectators.
